Meet Jason
Jason Walker is a career prosecutor dedicated to protecting victims, holding offenders accountable, and strengthening the justice system for the people of Grays Harbor County.
Appointed as Prosecutor in March 2026, Jason brings more than a decade of experience in the Grays Harbor County Prosecutor’s Office, where he served as Chief Criminal Deputy and handled the office’s most serious and complex felony cases. Over the course of his career, he has tried over 85 cases to verdict, handled more than 60 appeals, and argued many times before the Washington Court of Appeals.
His work has included prosecuting violent crimes, homicides, and long-unsolved cases—including a cold-case rape solved through forensic genetic genealogy—as well as securing convictions in cases involving organized violence, domestic abuse, and serious drug-related offenses.
Jason’s path to becoming a prosecutor was shaped by firsthand experience with injustice. While in college, he intervened in a domestic violence situation involving someone close to him—an experience that exposed the gaps in the system and led him to pursue a career focused on protecting victims and ensuring accountability.
After earning his degree in political science from Portland State University, Jason graduated from Lewis & Clark Law School and began his prosecuting career in Washington State. He joined the Grays Harbor County Prosecutor’s Office in 2011, where he later helped modernize office systems, improve case management, and streamline court processes to better serve the community.
Most recently, Jason served as a Staff Attorney with the Washington Association of Prosecuting Attorneys (WAPA), where he worked statewide to support prosecutors, improve training, and address the growing shortage of prosecutors in rural communities. He created and led Washington’s first statewide trial skills training program, helping prepare the next generation of prosecutors for the courtroom.
Jason is focused on restoring stability, professionalism, and accountability to the Grays Harbor Prosecutor’s Office. His priorities include strengthening partnerships with law enforcement, improving training and retention for deputy prosecutors, and ensuring that serious crimes are prosecuted effectively and consistently.
He is committed to building a justice system that works—for victims, for communities, and for Grays Harbor County.
